We are involved in the development of professional software designed to work with medical studies.

Our goal is to make physicians` and clinicians` work with large amounts of data (obtained in the course of studies and with the help of modern diagnostic equipment) more comfortable.

Our products are the PACS (Picture Archiving Communication System) constituent elements. PACS is a full-featured system for medical studies and images generation, transfer, storage and sharing. It provides medical centers with filmless technology. Widening the functionality capabilities of separate diagnostic devices, PACS elements can be used at large medical centers with a wide range of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as at small healthcare providers` facilities.

Our software products` basis is a set of international medical data and images (principally medical images) storage and sharing standards, called DICOM.

Our software products help to solve various complications which arise when healthcare providers share medical information across different healthcare networks; they provide greater opportunity for cooperation within whatever already-functioning, pre-existing healthcare provider information system medical workers are currently using.

Makhaon DICOM Storage

It is a package intended for creating integrated expandable medical images storage, in order to store large amounts of data obtained from the different medical diagnostic equipment. It provides long-term medical study storage, is able to integrate various DICOM-devices in one network, provides access to medical studies through web-interface, etc.

Makhaon Workstation

It improves the diagnostic capabilities of the existing medical equipment and increases their capacity, creating additional working storage areas for doctors dealing with this equipment; it better facilitates instances of remote consulting regarding the medical information stored; and, makes it possible to compare the recent studies and medical advances with previous studies or with a study obtained from the other modality. Makhaon Workstation lets users store the obtained studies on laser media and provides a fast, easily-utilized search function. Makhaon Workstation makes it possible to create an integrated network of DICOM-devices available at the healthcare providers. Makhaon Workstation is accessible for image processing (MPR, DSA) purposes, as well as a capacity expansion module for 3D-image view and processing.

Makhaon Workstation ver. 3.4 is released.

New thumbnail panel - the series currently open are displayed, the names of the series and the number of images in the series are displayed under the thumbnails.
The drag-n-drop of the thumbnail to the desktop is supported, the behavior of the drag-n-drop is processed - if the image is released in the special area in the center of the sub-screen, the study will open in the current sub-screen. If it will be dropped at the edges of the sub-screen, a new sub-screen will open on the side from which the drag-n-drop was performed.
Eliminates the restriction on the minimum size of images suitable for the “Image stitching” tool.
Processing of series containing multiphase images - simultaneous display of images in the same plane, but different phases.
Processing the Diffusion-Weighted Images - displaying the b-values from MRI units of different vendors.
3d cursor synchronizes all open series. Also it synchronizes position of the MPR reconstruction and multiphase series.
“Automatic synchronization” - when pressing the button for automatic synchronization, all series with a similar image orientation will synchronously change the position of the slice, pan and zoom. If the button is Up, the series does not participate in synchronization.
A new select type overlay: when a synchronized series is selected, marks all the series synchronized from it with a red dashed frame.
An automatic synchronization of series is processed, the intersection angle of which does not exceed 45 degrees in any plane.
“Manual synchronization” - when you click a button, a series of different open studies will be synchronized at the current level of the slices.
New concept of study descriptions, added rich text formatting capabilities through Richedit integration - the first stage. Added more than 100 tools to work with text, extended spell checker, transfer study reports to and from the archive.
Control overlays for multiplanar reconstruction mode were redesigned.
Reading from the folder and dicomdir has become multithreaded, dicomdir is being read in an additional stream, a new type of record has been added to the queue manager - reading dicomdir, and adding images to the database has been optimized.
The export function module is completely rewritten. Export to folder, to CD, to ISO, to removable media combined in one window. There was an additional opportunity to export to a folder along with dicomdir, Makhaon CD Lite, additional formats. Now you can choose an additional format when exporting to any place.
The ability to export to MP4 with one button has been added to the main form.
Export to different video formats has been completely rewritten, the ffmpeg library is used. There are many additional codecs added that are completely independent of those installed in the system. New output formats are - MP4, FLV.
RGB overlay image label is replaced by Value
Added option to clean the print page after printing is completed.
Added options for changing W/L parameters with the mouse - the direction of mouse movement when window and level change
It has now become possible to correctly use the ‘inversion’ tool not only on the default W/L values, but also on any others.
Opening series ‘on the fly’ with the addition of newly added images to the open series for viewing is realized.
Added work with the reference image: it is possible to freeze any one image on the additional monitor.

What is DICOM?

DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) is an industrial standard for transmission of radiological images and other medical data. DICOM-standard enables digital connection between different types of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment.

DICOM-standard enables digital connection between various types of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, produced by different vendors. DICOM-standard potentiates data transmission (via computer networks through standard protocols) between workstations, CT-scanners and MR-imaging units, PET systems, ultrasonography, digital x-ray units, located at any distance from each other.

What is PACS?

A picture archiving and communication system (PACS) is a medical imaging technology which provides economical storage of, and convenient access to, images from multiple modalities (source machine types).

What is HL7?

HL7-standard (Health Level 7) is used to facilitate interaction between computer applications in health care institutions and for external data exchange. HL7-standard aims at standardization of data exchange between medical computer applications, which excludes or noticeably reduces the necessity for the development of specific program interfaces.
